Thanks, I do agree that a separate form could be the way to go. However, my entire GUI is Ajax-enabled for creating, editing and deleting records, and once one's charted that territory there is no going back to separate forms.

My asp:Panel is currently positioned just below the entire GridView which is not all that bad either. However, I still think it would be much better if I could squeeze it in just below the editing row.

>>I have an Ajax-enabled updatable GridView in my app (using Anthem.NET) that I need to extend with some extra functionality. As of now, it is used to create, edit and delete users through SqlMembership provider and is working fine.

>>My question is this: is there any way I can get a control like asp:Panel to position itself between the row a user is editing and the next row in the gridview, so as to get some more working space for the extra controls I need to present? Preferably, it should be done server-side, but I don't mind JavaScript/CSS if it is needed.

>That is an interesting proposition. I have never encountered it and am not sure it can be done (but then I'm no ASP.NET interface expert). In my case the way I dealt with it in the past was to forgo in-grid editing for a different form to show and edit one full record.
