>>>I burned a CD months ago on another box. When I put it in my laptop drive, it doesn't show that any files are there, but the CD picture (properties) shows that it is completely filled. Hard to tell by physically looking at it if anything was actually written to it, but I'm pretty sure there was. Thanks!

>>>UPDATE: Weird, but I opened it in Roxio and it shows the ZIP files on the CD, but when I try to append 1 file to the CD, it errors out. I thought that might be a way to get Windows to recognize it, but no.

If your RW CD isn't finalized you can only read it with a drive that is burner. Lots of drives on laptops aren't. Try it on a burner.

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
