Yes, typical is in the profiles:

"So-and-so has been developing blah since 20 years" (esp francophones as "depuis" is teh word they'd use here.

"So-and-so has been developing blah for 20 years" is correct

We'd say "since" when referring to a particular date or event:

"We've been talkin' about Jackson ever since the fire went out"
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
