Yes, I was referring to what I'd call a "chair lift", only not like ski-lift chairs but little enclosed "pods". Cos street cars like in San Francisco are a type of cable car and aren't they, driven by a cable that runs along the street? Also, in looking up Llandudno (pronounced like sthlanDIDno, BTW - there IS no proper equiv in English for the welsh "ll") there were many references to the cable car that goes to the summit. When I accessed them they were all talking about the wee train that operates on a cable. Go figure. This is why I said "overhead cable". :-)
