Last August there was an update to XP which I attempted to install and it failed. I contacted Microsoft support and they gave me a reference number with a statement that they would follow up. Well, I am still waiting!

The good news is that my machine still works without the update! :)

P.S. If anyone is interested I have the reference number and eMail from Microsoft. It gives me a warm feeling. :)
