I'm usually not making copies, just data CDs and DVDs, so I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure I've used it to make copies in the past.
[update] it looks like you have to copy to your hard drive first (through their program). Since we're only doing data disks, that's good enough for us. You need the Pro version to do disk-to-disk copies.
