The only time I got a virus, (the one that affected SQL server a few years ago), it would not have been catched by a viruscanner anyways (as it was infected before the major antivirus scanners had released a patch)..
Just being careful and occasionally run an online virusscanner from
www.trendmicro.com is enough for me.
