I won't say anymore about the Stoudamire incident, basically we both completely disagree, I like the rule as it is, no exceptions whatsoever, if there is a fight and you leave your bench, you should be suspended without further contemplations, it is a clean a very easy to follow rule, no need to obscure it with ifs and buts to protect some people, that was the job of the assistant coaches who should share the blame for not stopping one of their marquee players.

Hugo,

I have to admit, I disagreed with Stern's ruling. What Horry did was a cheap-shot, goon-style move, and Stern gave San Antonio what they were hoping for.

I was hoping Phoenix could beat the Spurs, but didn't think it was truly possible after game 4. Had Stoudamire played in Game 5, I do believe the Suns would have won...which would have made for a very interesting game 6 and 7.

In general, the Spurs were the best team in the playoffs...so I won't say they're undeserving of the title....but unlike other title years, this one is a bit tarnished. For all the times I've agreed with David Stern's rulings, this is one that I totally disagree with. He could have fined the Suns, he could have issued a suspension to begin the following season...he could have done many things. But he screwed the Suns, and ultimately, his own league.
