Hey, Bo. Thanks for the reply. I see that working on this issue and writing the message at 12:45 a.m. was not conducive to clear thinking. Despite what I said, what was really happening is that it is a memo field in the header, not in the detail band. And yes, it's real long so it pushes the first detail line off the page, where it should render on the second page, but I guess there's a bug related to that.

I looked at the constant band height feature, but I assumed that meant what it said and the band will be whatever I set it to regardless of whether that much space is really needed. Testing seemed to prove that out. A max band height feature would be nice. Anyway, when that much space was not needed it would look kind of goofy.

I'm using the LEFT 500 characters of the memo field to give them a taste of the special instructions contained in this field. I think they can get by with that. Doing that seems to fix the problem, but if you have a more elegant or workable solution, let me know.

Will you be at AFUG this evening?

>If the detail band never has enough room to render, you can get this behavior. Try setting your Page Header to "fixed height" and see if that stops it from going into an endless loop. If that stops it, check your fields in your page header, one by one and find the culprit.
