Documented? Maybe, but vendors aren't exactly advertising the limitation. I knew about it going in, but as more people start buying systems with 4GB, they're going to be in for a surprise. Unless vendors turn on PAE, most people aren't going to know about it. 64-bit is the ultimate solution, but I hear driver support is bad right now. I'm not going to risk running it yet, but eventually I will.
