Unfortunately, the current usage gave it a different meaning - something that you can put in your mouth (and in the next meaning, "...although you'd rather like something else"). It seems there's no word which would cover its original meaning, "something that you can find out using your sense of taste".

And no, it won't be listed on my website, because the word is equally missing in my language :). Maybe we should just invent "palpatable"?
