I am all for real campaign finance reform. Unfortunately, the only people who can really do anything about it, Congress, are not. They pay it periodic lip service but always manage to circumvent it. Limits on campaign contributions are only obstacles, not barriers. Contributors figure out how to adhere to the letter of the law while still getting their money out there.

I used to think the Republicans were worse about this but the Democrats don't seem to be doing any better since gaining a majority last November.
