I'm not really sure what code would be relevant. The error is happening when I try to load the page. I found one solution where I had to override this function:

Public Overloads Overrides Sub VerifyRenderingInServerForm(ByVal control As Control)

End Sub

but I don't get any events from button clicks, etc.
