You can install by copying files and registering them but it would take a month of Sundays to figure out what to install and where to install it and then running REGSVR32 for everything that needs to be registered.

That's just a non-answer. The fox installer is very easy to use but is nowhere near as robust as Installshield for example. If you know what files need to go and what needs to be registered, it's fairly simple with Installshield to setup an installation. It also looks much more professional than the Fox installer (uninstall from the Control Panel is only one of the benefits).

As far as I know the two main files that you need are vfp500.dll and vfp5enu.dll. Depending on your apps, you may need your Active-X components. And some of those may require certain versions of standard Win95 DLLs.

You should never install an application on someone's PC without first knowing what files are being installed and what affects it might have on other applications.
