Is there any event, like a trigger, that fires automatically, on the way into or while in a table record that will let me add code?

The table is in a dbc, I would like to move to another record, and save where I was on the prior record, by means of a stored procedure.

No app, no program, no hot keys. I just move to a new record and it has a reference to where I came from. An automatic last (prior) record pointer.
