From what I've tried so far, you can paste directly into Word, OpenOffice sWriter, Thunderbird email client (probably Outlook too) and pretty much any other app which can accept a graphic object. Generally, those which can handle graphic objects can also recognize the regular Windows format for bitmap data in the clipboard.
