If you're serious about using Unicode you should look into using SQL Server or another SQL backend that supports Unicode. If you need to support multiple locales in a single table you'll have nothing but grief with FoxPro data.

VFP 9 thankfully made it much easier to use Unicode data through ODBC (as well as OLEDB) although you'll still have to deal with code page issues...
