Urologists recommend surgery.
Radiation Oncologists recommend external radiation or seeds.
Medical Oncologists recommend Chemo Therapy (in this case, Hormone Therapy)

If surgery fails, the Urologist refers you to the Radiation Oncologist for "salvage therapy".

If Radiation fails, the Rad Onc sends you to the Medical Oncologist.

These can be the right steps, but many times they are not, because many doctors do not keep up to date. To make sure we are getting good advice, we need to search out and find doctors in the above three disciplines that are specialists in Prostate Cancer. To do this, we have to find "lists" that have a large number of subscribers that are willing to share their experiences and the results of their research. Luckily, I found one eleven years ago that I credit with saving my life.
