Ah but it does trigger an error in the VFP error handler. If SET SAFETY is ON you will get a dialog about it, however if SET SAFETY is OFF the dialog is not displayed. You can do the same in your error handler too. Ignore 1707 is set safety is off and display a message if it is on.
