>When an XL8 spreadsheet is saved in Excel 2007, it is no longer compatible with VFP's IMPORT command. Note: I'm not talking about the new XML format, I'm talking about saving the document as an "Excel 97-2003 Workbook" or while the document is in "Compatibility Mode". There has been some discussion on this before, but has anyone found a way to get this working? I know there are alternatives to getting the data (automation, etc.), but I imagine there is a lot of IMPORT code out there, and this is going to be a big deal. Microsoft has said they won't fix this, referring to it as a "new" format, but it's not really new. Either the Excel or Fox team should take a look at this. Sergey reported the bug at the link below. Maybe more votes will make a difference:

There was a discussion on the same topic on tek-tips web-site with the same result as you showed here. Perhaps you saw it there too.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
