Some possible solutions to this whole immigration problem:

1) The US should cut off foreign aid to Mexico until Mexico does something
about it. Why should the United States suffer costs of supporting millions
of Mexican immigrants while we are sending millions to Mexico every year?

If the US stopped the aid, Mexico would put every last soldier they had on
their northern border to stop the exodus of people leaving their country, so
that they could get back the hand-outs from the US government.

2) Build a border wall from Texas to California with cameras and watch towers.
This would be a one-time cost that would pale in comparison to the cost of
illegal immigration. Most US citizens would support it. If we weren't spending
BILLIONS unnecessarily in Iraq (That's another thread), we would have the money
to do it.

3) Start enforcing the laws. Local police agencies cannot arrest someone simply
because they are an illegal alien. Why not?? Their illegal. That means they
committed a crime. It's not profiling or discrimination. It's law enforcement.

4) Start charging Mexico per head. Each time a Mexican citizen is detailed, send
the bill to Mexico. Take it out of their foreign aid. Hit them where it hurts -
the pocketbook.

None of these measures would cost the US a dime. The money is already earmarked
to hand to Mexico. Just reroute it to these programs.

Problem solved, IMHO.

>Good points, I agree with the idea of a parent being a citizen to automatically give the child rights.

>Mexico is a mess, looks like it will be for some time. As long as things are so bad there, we will have this problem. Some have advocated that building their economy up is the only way to stop the continuous influx, I can't see it happening because their government is too corrupt (not just Mexico's either)
