>>>I find it interesting though when people say American's don't care about the world.
>>>Hey just excatly how much money does your country owe ours? Perhaps if America cut off all the financial aid we give to Turkey you would change your view.... and hey if you guys hate us so much why do you keep accepting stuff from us?
>>
>>Hmmmm, financial aid ?? Isn't this more of a deal to hire/bribe turkeys services for a gateway to the middle east? You have to ask yourself the question.. Is the USA playing santa by giving 6 billion for expecting nothing in return? You've got to be kidding....

>Well, in that particular case the 6 billion was more of a bribe, yes, but there has still been a great deal of financial aid given to Turkey by the USA. I'm sure if we poked around and investigated each of these we'd find that there was some sort of 'deal' that was involved - but none the less this doesnt change the fact that if USA offer's it - Turkey aint gonna refuse it. The fact that Turkey will apparenlty compromise they're values/standards/morals or whatever in the process just furthers my point.

There are not a lot of second and third world countries that would refuse any financial aid, no matter the source. Don't think the US is alone in this. EU countries donate a huge amount of money each year for development and other financial aid. And this usually is without any doubtfull hidden motives.

And if you think your country is playing santa... http://www.globalissues.org/TradeRelated/Debt/USAid.asp#Almostallrichnationsfailthisobligation

The US only gives about 0.17% of their GNI while most european countries are giving way more than that.
