You can treat the 2.6 tables as Remote data, and access them through ODBC. VFP can do this as well as any other ODBC capable DBMS.
Your options regarding internet access are wide and varied, but if you prefer VFP as your development tool, I highly recommend Rick's West-Wind Web Connection.
