>>I have another problem working with a combo box. My combo box have 510 items in the drop down list. When I select item number 509 the combo box refreshed. I go back and select another item in the list, I get a error. The items from 1-508 is ok and any items above 509 is ok too. It just the item number 509. I don't know if you run across anything like this before. If you have and do have a work around that would be great. Thanks Jim. >> >Marc, > >It depends on the version of VFP you are using. In earlier versions there was a problem with lists and combos that had to do with certain items not functioning correctly. I recall it being something like 213 and multiples of 213, but I may remeber it incorrectly. > >My first comment is that a combo is not a good choice for selecting one out 510 choices. I certainly don;t want to navigate a combobox to do that, and I don'tt think most users will either. I would use a textbox with a look up feature. The user types what they know and then you popoup a form to narrow the options down based on what they typed. > >With this approach, if the user knows what they want they just type it and never have to remove their hands from the keyboard to navigate a combobox. If they need the list to help them, they will have already narrowed the number of choices down. Hi! Could you throw some more light on a lookup textbox. Is it possible to download an example form some were? Further in a combo box one can program a search feature - something like as in tastrade sample application. The user could then select an entry without leaving the keyboard ? Sonali
