>>>I want to map to my home PC from my laptop, but it's asking for the password. The administrator on the PC does not have a password. So, is it the password that was used during setup? I only ever use two and it is not either of those. Where in XP can I set this if it was blank? I know there are utilities that can change them, but I would rather go through the normal means first. Thanks!

>>>UPDATE: I tried using MMC to set the administrator password on the PC, but the laptop still will not connect as it won't accept the password. I can connect through my other mappings to drives on the PC, including the C drive, but not using the \\MyPC\c$ syntax. Shouldn't this work?

How about this...
Use the windows explorer to map the drive (you can add the button to the toolbar).
Select 'login as different user'... and put in machinename\username (dont put the \\ at the front). the machinename and username would be the machine you're mapping too, and the username too. I just tried that senerio here at it seems to of worked.
