Short answer is essentially 'yes', web datagridviews can be datadriven and constructed programatically. I've had to do similar things when a gridview was being used by an admin person versus a non-admin person.

Somewhere I have some sample code, if I can find it, I'll post it - though others on this forum have done it as well and might have some code handy.
