What do you mean by "each" line? Do you have more than one line in your report?

What I meant was that in the detail band, I assumed you had one row of objects to print. The line should be placed just below the objects but still within the detail band.

The line is a "trick" that can be used to ensure that whitespace is used up. Because the line is marked to never print and to remove when blank, VFP looks at the line and then keeps moving upwards to see what the previous object is that printed. It removes all the whitespace between those. I have used this trick often when you have a picture on the report and sometimes it is blank. If you don't use this trick, you can end up wasting a lot of white space in report.
