>Used to watch the Transformers with my son and daughter as they grew up.
The TV was about 45 degrees away from my eye-monitor axis, so I got them peripherally. I do remember thin story, artificial/superficial dialogues, industrial grade (aka roughshod) drawing with minimal resolution along the temporal line, and... well, the dumb beginnings of the industry which has grown into today's manga culture. Any art in it would be accidental.
>My daughter (18) and I went to go see the movie. It is fantastic! The CGI blended perfectly with the live action.
Our youngest (15) went to see it Saturday evening, and she was also amazed with the CGI (and her oldest sister is doing visual arts for living, so she knows the technology). Her comment, "they looked so like in real life" (yeah, the cynical connotation was intentional). All in all, worth seeing for the visuals and sound. Didn't comment on the story.
