Sergey
I am already using VFP 5 + - have just managed to work out the answer after scratching my head on it for about 3 hours - and passive mode works - I'll certainly have a look at the other class - thanks as always for your help
The app I'm working on is for a tranportation company in Queens which I visit several times a year - its a subsidiary of one of my UK clinets

FTP Class for VFP 5.0+ File #
9442. If you're not using it yet, take a look at
FTP class 2.0.3 File #
30345 which should have passive mode implemented already.

To use FPT functions in passive mode, pass in the value INTERNET_FLAG_PASSIVE in the dwFlags parameter (the 7th parameter) in the call to InternetConnect. INTERNET_FLAG_PASSIVE like all other WinInet constants is defined in WinInet.h. It's value is 0x08000000, or 134217728.
