I'ld say about 10 years from Win95 to XP64. Also dropping Win32 just for the heck of it doesn't seem plausible: I don't think 128 bit machines will arrive in 8 years, as the gains are getting smaller. And a totally new OS working from a different code base running from Handhelds to cluster servers ? Don't think so...
