In this area, the VFP market still has some legs. I have received multiple job opportunities/offers while at my current position and starting salaries for VFP are only slightly lower than what’s been indicated here for .Net.

The company I work for is very stable and growing steadily. My boss was a FoxPro fan before I came on board, knows what the VFP roadmap is, and still believes that VFP is the right tool for this job. When he looks to hire, he looks for people with the potential to stay with the company for life, because he realizes it is very expensive to keep training new people.

But if you like your location and opportunities don't exist where you are, then it makes sense to do something else, everybody's situation is different.

>If the market for VFP developers exists in your area and you can make a good profit from it, then more power to you. Honest question though... how long do you think that market will exist? I know the situation with highly paid COBOL programmers making a mint because of legacy code, but I don't think you can compare the quantity of COBOL apps to the quantity of VFP apps.
