Titre:
Conrad Black and 'mail fraud'
Canadians have an interest in the trial recently concluded in Chicago where a BIG corporate executive and 3 of his side-kicks were each found guilty of 3 counts (out of many more) of "mail fraud".
What surprises me is that big-wigs like tem even bothered to use the U.S. Postal Service for the business they were transacting.
I thought that the would surely use FedEx or UPS for such stuff.
I assumed that one of the attractions of FedEx or UPS was precisely that charges of "mail fraud" couldn't stick if they were used in lieu of the U.S. Postal Service.
Black was also found guilty of obstruction of justice, havine been caught on tape loading 13 boxes of documents (under subpoena, apparently) into his Cadillac. Seemed he was not aware that a new security system had been installed in his building.
