Yes, I got rid of the second CTE and your subquery solution is the key. I have implemented this technique to generate some powerful stored procedures which will be used by our web store clients. Thanks again for the help.

My wife and I decided 20 years ago to change our life style and turn down the "volume". We both had very demanding jobs, and in fact the pressures of my wife's career were making her ill. We decided to move to TC and live a simpler and less intense life. I took a 2/3 pay cut, my wife became a housewife, and so our new life in the TC area began.

>Sure thing, my wife and I have eaten there a few times but never had the ribs. There is a little "jewel" on the peninsula where local artists show their handywork and the restaurant serves great meals. It was called Old Mission Tavern. If you get a chance next time give it a try. Also a true Traverse City experience can be had at "Boone's Long Lake Inn". they serve the de-facto strip steak. It is the house special and will both startle and amaze you. The NorthPeak brewery serves the best IPA I have ever tasted and their appetizers cannot be beat. I could go on and on about TC, but growing up in the Chicago area I can really appreciate this quaint and colorful resort town.

>First, just want to verify - you're OK now with that CTE issue, right?

>If you like ribs, you'll like the ribs at the Bowery - very very good. (first time I went there, I learned that not everyone uses the term 'rack'....they asked if i wanted half a slab or a full slab!)

>I heard about the Old Mission Tavern - yes, if I ever get up there again, I'll check it out. I tell you something, if I wanted to take 3-4 days and spend it in a nice quiet area, I might go to T.C. (I actually have an airline credit, so maybe I will!)

>I've been in T.C. four times, each time I stayed at Park Place. Nice hotel. There was a place called "610" that had nice music and great cheeseburgers.

>I also heard about the NorthPeak brewery.

>I was in T.C. in May of 2005, and the night I arrived, it was snowing - I left from PA earlier that day where it was 80 and I was wearing shorts. Strange!!!
