I tried varifocals for a coupe of weeks and hated them. I went back to a plain prescription and taking them off for reading.

I finally had to admit that the print wasn't getting smaller and it was my eyes :o) I actually have a prescription that has 1x on the bottom and nothing on the top. I've never used them though because I only need them when reading small print and I'd rather have larger glasses for that then try to look through the very bottom of glasses.
