>I wasn't very good - compared to others around me - at these games, but I loved to play them. I did well at the Star Wars game - wireframe, but very realistic - though I've never met anyone else who even heard of it.

Me! I've heard of that Star Wars game. There was also a wireframe Star Trek that I liked. Of course there was Space War.

BattleZone was one of my favorites. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlezone

Then they re-created it and I played it a lot.

We hooked up a PC to our big screen, turned out the lights and tried Doom 3 when it came out. It actually made us jump!

The recent Battle Star Galaactica TV Series has a free-ware game based on the FreeSpace engine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLcHtKcB0nI&mode=related&search=

The latest game I want to try is Prey which uses the Doom 3 engine. Haven't had a chance to try it yet.
