Thomas, amen to that. The reality is that there may be flakiness under heavy load for even the newest OS and tools. IME, increased complexity = increased trouble until the technology beds in. In IT the technology undergoes little stress testing (compared to Volkswagon's new diesel engine or a new type of steel girder) and software versions flow so swiftly that acceptance of a certain level of bug seems to be the norm.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
