Well, there seem to be a couple of witnesses; including the guy from whom he supposedly bought a winning dog, and he's implicated in the killings of 8 dogs. I obviously don't really know either, but it sounds to me like he not only knew, but was heavily involved.

I also thought that I read he lived in that house, but pled ignorance on how that part of the land was being used because it wasn't close to the house.
