It was more interesting when they got into water skiing, coming more than halfway across - they had the island, we had the shore.

I did mean peddlers, not pedalers. I don't mind motorless two-wheelers (actually always have at least one ready), but people trying to sell something when I'm not asking for it are such a nuisance.
