I'm trying to create an application entirely in VFP, with a goal being the ability to replace the GUI with something non-VFP. The DBC contains all the base tables, as well as all the views that the GUI uses to access the data. The views for the middle-tier are in the DBC as well.

Is it reasonable to break this DBC into 3 separate DBCs? 1) all the base tables, 2) the views used by the GUI, 3) the views used by the middle-tier

Is this a good thing to do, or am I off-base fundamentally?
