Sorry for the jargon. Yes, that means it remains the same. For most home connections, unfortunately, it does not. Contact your Internet service provider and ask if they will assign you a static IP address. Even if they won't, you may still be okay because the IP address is usually established when you connect and shouldn't change until you disconnect.
