> How could anyone up here take somebody seriously saying that ADO.NET in .NET1.0 is justs as good database engine as the build in VFP engine??

>I have no recollection of him saying that. But what I do recall were statements that stored procs + ADO.NET 1.1 could usually get the job done.

> Like others here JVP seldomly choose to argue on pure technical arguments, but rather on personal believes, opinion or preferences.

>You've made speculations and projections about .NET in the past, with little or no working experience. JVP used the technologies that he spoke about.

So you ask a bricklayer the best way to build a house because the architect did not actually build houses single handedly?? Great, I'll take the architect, you'll take the bricklayer. My projections of ADO.NET in that time were spot on. They were no match for VFPs local data handling. Sure it was a little better then ADO, but that was it, no post processing of any significance was easily done. BTW, I don't recall JVP being a big fan of SPs, rather I did hear him say many times to perform ALL data processing on the server rather on the client.

>JVP had a big mouth and that was the reason he was booted...

>Thanks for the comment, I'll pass that along.

As if he did not know himself.
