Cetin,
Thanks a LOT for your tip! That's what I needed to know, since it prevents the need to have a vertical command button. Since I was having trouble with one button serving two grids---due to the button not knowing the alias---I thought I would need to stick a command button beside each grid; I didn't have much room anywhere else.
Now, after choosing which grid is to be referenced (by clicking on it), the command button will know which alias to use.
And thanks, also, to Jim and Mike for your replies, as well!

I am having trouble with the routines determining which table to reference. Apparently, just because I click on a grid, it does not appear to select its associated table.

>Vertical is really a problem if you mean rotated vertðical otherwise you could use wordwrap property for that effect, autosize in combination.
>If grids have many methods in common then create a grid class for them. To make a grid select its table explicitly (though it knows its recordsource except for some operations) in when event add :

select (this.recordsource)
