What version of VFP?
I ask this because there is much better approach in VFP8 and VFP9 - CursorAdapter.
With RemoteView you could only use ODBC connection, with CA you could use ADO also.

To answer to your question, you must add Connection to your Database also. In that connection you point to Database and then run RV builder.
