Lastkey() will let me know what was the last key that was pressed. I can look at that to see if the Quit option was selected.

My real problem is that the program is on the FGETS() command until I receive data from the serial port. If the operator would press the Quit key before scanning the last barcode this would work fine. But in reality the user scans all the necessary barcodes and then wants to press a key on the keyboard to signal quit. The user then has to scan an additional barcode just to complete the FGETS(). I need for the keystroke to be able to interrupt or complete the FGETS().
