Complete control of players, owners, and advertisers. Exemption from antitrust laws. The NFL is a money machine and they don't tolerate anything that's off message. As just one example, fining Brian Urlacher of the Bears $100,000 for wearing a cap with the name of a sports drink other than that of the official sponsor. And here's a new one. The NFL wants to require photographers to wear bibs with the logos of paid sponsors. Many news organizations have said they won't comply but that's what the league wants.
