No both are correct just as both were US incorrect :-)

That's a Scouse usage of the verb. In liverpool they say "Borrow me a fiver" and "No I will not let you lend any more off me"
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
