Unfortunately no.
exec sp_fulltext_table 'myTable', 'start_full'
makes the full population initially. You must however update the index different ways using the same sp.
PS: OS also maintains a fulltext catalog for files and that catalog could be searched from within VFP to locate files containing given fulltext expression. Just remembered talking about fulltext:)
