Speaking of shanks, I don't get them anymore. I finally took a lesson, my first one in about 10 years, and it made a big difference. Amazing what someone who knows what to look for can see in your swing. Simple triangle drill, stop laying open the club at the top, and making sure I get a full turn of my right foot through the downswing, and it's added 15 yards to my clubs and brought a lot of control to the shots. Even my driver, which is my most frustrating club.

My nine year old girl takes lessons every week now and she's doing really well. She loves it. I started her when she was just two. All she did mostly was sit in a sandtrap and play with the rake and balls, but sometimes she would pick up a club and mess around. I never made her hit balls or do anyting really. I figured if she liked it she would ask me how to do it. She did and I got her solid on the fundamentals; grip, stance, posture, etc. She's looking forward to when she beats me on the course, which I'm guessing will be in about two years at her current rate.

Really has nothing to do with your post, but I know we both really like golf so I didn't think you would mind...
