I actually got the DVDs from the library a couple years ago to see if it was as I remembered it from its first run on PBS. I now keep a pair of knitting needles handy as all times to poke into my eyes and ears in case it comes on again <g> I can really get into most period pieces but seldom have I cared so little about characters who cared so much about themselves.
