>If you change the paper tray, preview a report, then print the report from the preview window, it doesn't use the proper paper tray. Any fixes? Also, I found a message like this using the search function on this site -- how would I view that message and any responses? It was sent on 7-7-98 by John Fatte (category=chatter). Do I need the premier membership to see old messages?
yes, you'd need a premier membership to search and view old messages. there were no responses to that message, which was:
When using the REPORT FORM command with the PROMPT option, it appears that it does NOT display the proper paper tray as shown in control panel. We have tested this with the following printer drivers: HP Laser Jet 4 Plus, HP Laser Jet 6P (standard and enhanced), HP Laser Jet 4. Printing will work properly if you change to the proper printer tray from the PROMPT dialog screen, however, if you do not change the paper tray, you receive a printer error.
This seems like a HUGE problem that many people should be encountering, but I have not seen anyone mention it.
We have also tried to use sys(1037) to work around this problem, and even though it shows the proper paper tray on the HP6P, it still attempts to print to the wrong paper tray.
We have also determined that if you preview the report first, then select print from the toolbar without first displaying the printer dialog screen, it prints properly and to the proper paper tray.
